In the garden.
A restorative journey in nature.
In the garden.
Like many photographers I enjoy going on what we often like to call a "photo walk".
I'd like to get out on these more often, but life has a habit of getting in the way.
But when I do go out on one of these walks, it's quite often in my local botanic garden.
I live in a high-rise apartment, with great views but not much in the way of a garden or with any connection to nature.
It's good for stress levels, or if anxiety is an issue, a walk around a beautiful garden can be of major help.
It's not just the visual beauty that appeals, although that is a big consideration, it's also the sounds, the scents of the plants and flowers, and the overall tactile experience of being surrounded by nature that can contribute to a restorative and relaxing time.
Of course, a big bonus for me is the chance to create a little bit of visual beauty for myself while I'm out and about being active
.
Wandering aimlessly with an eye open for the smaller details is a great way to fill in an afternoon, you get the chance to burn off a few calories and revel in the delights of mother nature.

Really nice work, Ross. I love the lighting here!
The lighting on these photos is amazing, really love how you've captured the shapes in these shots.
